How to EASE Your Business (For Your Life + Sanity)

Are you frustrated with the slow growth of your online business? Do you feel overwhelmed and burned-out? A good marketing plan shouldn't leave you feeling exhausted and overworked. It's time to EASE your business and develop a marketing plan that works for YOU. bit.ly/easeyourbusiness | Productivity for Entrepreneurs | Productivity for Bloggers | Online Marketing Tips | Online Marketing Strategy | Business Marketing Tips | #Business #Entrepreneur #Entrepreneurship #Productivity #Blogging

Do you ever feel like you’re always hustling and never seeing the results you’ve worked so hard to achieve? Do you feel like your blog is running you instead of the other way around?

I’ve been there.

I’ve worked my butt off, spent more money than I could afford, and driven myself to the point of exhaustion with disheartening results to show for it.

I have a serious chronic illness. That’s how I ended up in the online business world to begin with. I’m too sick to work a “normal” 9 to 5 job. And I’m sure there’s something sucking your energy dry too–a day job, kids, school, or maybe an illness like me.

Whatever your situation, there’s one thing I know we have in common. We don’t have time or money to waste on marketing strategies that bring lackluster results.

That’s why the core value behind everything I preach about online marketing–whether it’s Pinterest, SEO, or content marketing–is EASE.

E - It must be effective.
A - It must be adaptable.
S - It must be sustainable.
E - It must be economical.

Let’s break this down a little.

Effective

Ever heard of the 80/20 rule? It says that 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

80% of the sales come from 20% of the clients.

80% of your traffic comes from 20% of all those social channels you’ve been spending your time on.

80% of your results come from 20% of your hard work.

You get the idea.

Effective marketing isn’t just about doing more. It’s about doing what works.

Adaptable

As your business grows and changes, the tools and strategies you use to fuel it will change too.

I find it helpful to set aside time every once in a while to pause and review my current marketing plan. I look for areas where I can improve, re-evaluate strategies that may not be working, and re-assess which tools I use.

Sustainable

As solopreneurs, we have to wear a lot of hats. It’s tough to check all the boxes on the daily to-do list, especially in the early stages of a new business. And it’s easy to get into a pattern of working late and pushing self-care to the back burner.

Hustle looks great on paper, but in real life it causes burnout. I’m a natural workaholic, but I’ve learned that taking time to rest and reset actually increases my productivity.

That’s why I believe so strongly in implementing automated systems and outsourcing whenever possible. It’s about working smart, not working hard.

Economical

Wouldn’t it be nice to have an unlimited budget to run your business? Unfortunately, most online business owners don’t have an unlimited budget, but spend like they do.

Striking the right balance between living within the constraints of your budget and investing in the right tools and education (i.e. things that actually save time and increase revenue) isn’t always easy. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith; other times it’s best to hold back.

Just remember that limitation often leads to innovation. And it’s okay if you can’t afford the latest and greatest tools for running your blog or biz. Scale your operating expenses as you scale your business and remember that time = money too! Invest in time-saving tools first and save the non-essentials for later.
