Website Launch: Heather Chauvin
Most of the work I do consists of consulting, a la carte design, development, and creating digital products. As a result, I don’t often take on full custom design projects. That’s why I’m so excited to share with you this website launch for Heather Chauvin!
Heather Chauvin is a life and business coach whose amazing story of survival and personal growth has inspired thousands through her speaking, podcast, and coaching programs.
Before the redesign, Heather’s site lacked strategy. The organizational structure wasn’t very intuitive and the site lacked color and a dynamic look and feel.
This was a dream project for a few reasons. The first is that I had an amazing client who allowed me almost total creative freedom to do my best work. I took that and ran with it, adding lots of customizations and really honing in on user experience.
Here are some cool project stats:
10 pages designed
7 Squarespace plugins
1700+ lines of code
Some of my favorite customizations included:
Combining a Squaremuse gallery plugin and the the SQSP Themes video lightbox plugin to create a video testimonial popup gallery.⠀
Coding a Simplero form to look and function like a Squarespace lightbox form.
Creating custom footer, split-screen, and image layouts.⠀
The reason this project was such a success is because Heather already had professional branding, photos, and was working with a copywriter to craft amazing copy that fit perfectly into the layout I provided.
As a web designer, my job is to take all of those elements and piece them together to make a cohesive whole. A website can only look as good as its branding and photos, no matter how talented the web designer.
I am SO grateful to the amazing creatives whose work made this website possible.
Gio at GIOGRAFIK designed Heather’s gorgeous brand.
Rachel at Lively Creative Co. took all of Heather’s brand photos.
Kristen at Going Ultraviolet wrote Heather’s amazing site copy.
